Elen’s putting her wildlife conservation and ecology degree to good use working as a Conservation Ranger at Whinfell Forest in Cumbria.
A big part of Elen’s job involves running a variety of educational workshops, from leading wildlife walks and pond dipping, to creepy crawly handling sessions.
She’s also involved in conservation surveys and habitat regeneration work across the forest. She believes her Reaseheath degree equipped her well for the diverse nature of her role, especially all the practical sessions and conservation survey training that she took part in.
Some of the best parts of student life Elen notes was being part of the Reaseheath Student Association, getting involved in RAG (Raising and Giving) charity fundraising and working in the student bar.
