Access to Higher Education Diploma
Having been out of education for several years, Joe was unsure about whether he could gain a degree. After completing our Access to HE course and a BSc in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology, he has achieved his goal.
Although Joe had a keen interest in birds and already worked as a head falconer before studying with us, he chose to study his degree at University Centre Reaseheath to explore the wider conservation industry.
Since graduating, Joe has gone on to study a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology at the University of Chester. This has given him the chance to conduct research in Lanzarote, alongside world leading experts, to conserve the endangered houbara bustard.
“Access to HE opened up new and exciting doors for me. I believed I couldn’t achieve a degree because I’d been out of education for years but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’m excited to see what the future will bring!”
