Peter Harvey
Foundation Degree in Adventure Sports Management
A former web designer for Airbus, Peter decided to retrain after discovering a passion for the outdoors during a year working and travelling in Canada.
Interested in all types of outdoor sports, he has appreciated the variety of our degree and has also taken the opportunity to study for National Governing Body awards to add to his CV.
Enthusiastic and committed to the outdoor sports industry, Peter has now secured an apprenticeship as a customer service advisor at the world famous National Mountain Centre in Plas y Brenin, Snowdonia, and is continuing to work towards his mountain leadership and other awards. His ultimate ambition is to become a mountain leader.
Peter, who is dyslexic, found it easy to get the study support he needed and has flourished on this vocational degree. He’s also immersed himself in the Reaseheath social experience by helping to run our Climbing Wall Club.
University Centre Reaseheath has a good teaching environment which helps you to really understand your subject. But the thing I most enjoyed were the residential trips to Scotland and Wales. Everyone had similar interests and it was the best experience I’d ever had.
