Apply directly to University Centre Reaseheath
This course will allow you to teach in Further Education Colleges, Sixth Form Colleges, adult education and a wide range of other training and educational settings. Studying this programme at Reaseheath College offers an experience that is particularly suited those looking to teach in land-based, STEM or vocational friendly environments.
Through a range of teaching methods, including interactive lectures, workshops, visiting speakers, group work and online activities, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of teaching within further and adult education.
You will be required to undertake a minimum of 100 independent teaching hours, gaining practical experience teaching learners at different levels, supported by a subject mentor.
To support your development you will also complete four observations each academic year which will assess all aspects of lesson planning, delivery and assessment.
Alongside this programme there is an opportunity to gain additional qualifications in ‘Assessing Competence in the Work Environment*’ and the ‘Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment*’ (*subject to appropriate placement, additional certification costs apply).
University Centre Reaseheath is an academic partner of the University of Chester. Foundation degrees, Honours degrees, and Cert Ed are awarded by the University of Chester.

You are required to attend all taught sessions, online activities and individual tutorials. It is your responsibility to ensure you maintain the required teaching hours and make observation time available for assessment.
Teaching Practice placement required in FE/Adult Education (minimum 100 hours) confirmed prior to start of course.

*You must be observed teaching on at least 4 occasions in each year – 2 by Mentor 2 by Tutor therefore 8 in total over the 2 year programme. These sessions will include aspects of planning, delivery and assessment, including differentiation, and other factors that contribute to successful teaching and learning.
University College Reaseheath’s standard rules regarding plagiarism and its impact on assessment and progression apply to this course. Coursework is mostly submitted electronically through Turn-it-in.
Students will be able to access course timetables for that academic year from the start of their year in September.
