Jamie Stevenson
Foundation Degree in Countryside Conservation and Recreation Management
Life changing is the way Jamie describes his time as a Reaseheath undergraduate, crediting his degree for his career change from factory shop floor worker to potential lecturer.
Although he had previously gained a Diploma in Countryside Management, the offer of a permanent job drew him into an unrelated career. But his interest in countryside matters persisted and he returned to join our part-time degree course, which allowed him to continue working while studying.
Jamie’s journey into academia has continued with a BSc (Hons) in Countryside and Environmental Management from Harper Adams University, followed by a MSc in Agro-ecology. He hopes to complete a PhD before a career in research or lecturing.
My Reaseheath degree opened up a new world for me, enabling me to see things in a different light. I was able to fit studying round work, which was a big bonus, and the lecturers were so inspiring.
