Accommodation
What types of accommodation do you offer?
Our accommodation ranges from townhouses to more traditional halls of residence, all on-site. Whether you opt for shared bathroom facilities or your own en-suite, you will have your own room with a work-station, WiFi and 24-hour support from our safeguarding team. All the information you need to know about our accommodation, including types of accommodation and costs can be found on our accommodation page.
Do you offer year-round accommodation?
Sadly not. Students have to vacate their room over Christmas, Easter and summer.
Is there student accommodation available for each year of study?
Yes, University Centre Reaseheath students can apply each year they study for on-site accommodation. However, priority is given to first year students.
Can we choose which accommodation we would like to live in?
You can let us know which accommodation blocks you would prefer to live in and we do our best to get all students in their preferred accommodation.
What support can I get if I do not get a place in accommodation?
It would be unlikely you would not get accommodation if you are not on one of our transport routes. If you are on a transport route and you didn’t get accommodation, then you will be able to use our transport service for a small charge.
Are we allowed visitors to our accommodation?
You will be allowed non-residential, over 18 visitors in your room up until 11:30pm, provided they are signed in with residential services. On Friday and Saturday, over 18 visitors are allowed to stay over (again if they are signed in).

Transport
What transport routes do you offer?
We currently offer transport on 23 different bus routes across Cheshire and surrounding areas. To find your nearest pick up point and for more information including costs, please visit our transport page.
Would you recommend getting a car? Is there parking for students on campus?
You are welcome to use your own car to travel to University Centre Reaseheath and use the parking spaces we have available on site. Your other option would be to use our reliable bus service which collects students from across Cheshire and surrounding areas for a small charge. For more information please visit our transport page.

Campus and Local Area
Where is Reaseheath located?
Reaseheath is located in the rural market town of Nantwich, which has a keen sense of community spirit and offers everything you need to make your university experience unforgettable. The bright lights of Chester, Manchester and Liverpool are also in easy reach, meaning our campus offers you the best of both worlds. You can find out more on our Discover Nantwich page.
What supermarkets, restaurants or bars are there in Nantwich?
There is a Sainsburys, Morrisons and Aldi all close by. Over the summer, you will be given access to our New to UCR Welcome Hub, which will provide you with a wealth of information about the local shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
In the mean time, please visit the Nantwich Town Council website to to find out about restaurants, bars, cinemas and other days out.
What types of food are offered on-site?
The catering team at Reaseheath offers a wide range of food options across the site for our students, staff and visitors. We offer breakfast, lunch and evening meals along with snacks throughout the day.
The catering team can accommodate a variety of diets and food allergies. If you have specific requirements, please speak to a member of the team and they will be pleased to assist.
What facilities do you have for learning?
In recent years, over £80 million has been invested into on-campus facilities including an equestrian centre, an industry leading food centre, new sports facilities, agric-technology centre and a scientific horticultural facility, unique to the UK. What sort of wellbeing support do you have for students?
You wellbeing is really important to us at University Centre Reaseheath. The Student Health and Wellbeing Service is available to all students who require support for a range of issues whilst at university. We are committed to supporting you to enable you to reach your full potential. Whatever issues you are facing, we are here to help.
Wellbeing Advisors offer a confidential service and are available 9am-5pm Monday – Friday. You will have an assigned Wellbeing Advisor to your curriculum area that is accessible and able to listen to you. Find out more here.
I have a question regarding learning support, what should I do?

Student life
What is the Student Association (SA)?
Representing all students, the Student Association (SA) acts as the ‘Student Voice’ from both an academic and social perspective, ensuring you get the best ‘Reaseheath Experience’.
The work the SA does has ensured a busy social life on campus, a good reputation in the local community and over £300,000 raised for charities. This led to the SA being nominated out of the whole of Cheshire for the Queen’s Award for volunteering. Find out more here.
How do I join the SA?
The SA committee is open for all to join with most committee roles opening at the beginning of the academic year. We really encourage students to get involved and share their ideas.

What societies do you have?
We have a large number of busy student-led clubs and societies on campus, from crafts to conservation, photography to acapella, and even a Harry Potter society, but we are always looking for more! What sports do you offer?
We offer recreational sports throughout the year, which range from climbing and badminton to yoga and Clubbercise. We have a state-of-the-art gym with Technogym equipment, Olympic lifting platform and a weights area for you to use for a small charge. Please click here to find out more.
What social events do you offer?
There is a lively nightlife to enjoy in our on-site bar with a range of themed nights being held such as foam, UV, music themes and other nights with live entertainment or a simple pub quiz or bingo! How can I connect with other new students?

Do you have any available jobs on campus? If so, how and when can people start applying?
There may be opportunities to become a student ambassador, or to work in our catering and transport departments. We may also have a few roles at our mini zoo and bar, but there are limited vacancies and some are allocated to students continuing study.
All vacancies will be posted at Fresher’s Fair (date TBC). Please note, these jobs will also be subject to an application and interview process.
Admissions
Where can I find my Student ID number?
This can be found on your offer letter.
When will I enrol for my course?
When it is time, we will email you with details and instructions for completing the process. Please note, students on a degree program (excluding Higher National Diploma students) will also be required to complete their online enrolment with the University of Chester. You will receive a separate email from Chester around the start of term. We encourage you to complete this as soon as possible.
How do I update my contact details?
You can email UCR@reaseheath.ac.uk with your full name, date of birth and the first line of your address, along with the changes that you wish to make, and we can do it for you.
Study
When will timetables be released?
Timetables are usually confirmed by late August/early September, but are subject to change.
What equipment do I need to purchase for my course?
Over the summer you will be given access our New to UCR Welcome Hub, which details the clothing and equipment required for each course. This should ideally be purchased before the start of term. Branded UCR equipment can be purchased via our online shop.
Is there a recommended reading list for my course?
Over the summer, you will be given access to the New to UCR Welcome Hub, which contains reading lists for every course.
How many hours of teaching do I get?
You’ll have plenty of contact with tutors and enjoy a mix of teaching methods, from large group lectures to small seminars and one to one sessions, to field visits and practical work. Please look at your degree of interest to find out more.
I have a place on a part-time foundation degree, would I join full time student classes or are the courses run independently?
You will join the classes of the full-time students, but studying less modules.
How do I get in touch with my course tutor?
You can contact your course tutor via their work email address, by phoning their direct line number or by emailing ucr@reaseheath.ac.uk to arrange a call.
Does my course have a study tour?
A lot of our degrees do offer the opportunity to go on a study tour. This could be within the UK or abroad with our students travelling to Africa, Peru, Berlin and many more exciting locations. Please look at your degree of interest to find out more.
What careers follow your degrees?
All our degrees are designed to help you become ‘Industry Focused, Career Ready,’ meaning there are some amazing careers waiting for you at the end of your studies. Each degree offers different career opportunities which can be found on the course pages of our website.

I’m having trouble logging on to my Reaseheath account, what should I do?
You can email our IT department at support@reaseheath.ac.uk. You can expect a reply within 3-5 business days, but please note that replies may take longer than this during busy periods.
Will there be any opportunities to visit the campus before I start in September?

Can we access anything to talk with students currently studying?
To chat to current students, please email studentlife@reaseheath.ac.uk with your full name and the course you will be studying and we will put you in touch with one of our current students.
I have emailed a department with a query, but I have not had a reply yet. What should I do?
